Comprent National News - March/April 09 |
|
Wednesday, 22 April 2009 |
The last two months have seen Comprent Motor Sports annihilate lap records at two venues while competing in Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) National events.
C-Sports Racer (CSR) driver Tommy Thompson (Houma, LA) set the tone at the Road Atlanta (Braselton, GA) National run in-conjunction with the TransAm Series, March 21-22.
It was Tommy’s first time driving his Crystal Head Vodka sponsored Élan DP-02 since the car had been upgraded with a Factory Élan Tunnel Floor and the increase in performance was immediately noticeable.
Throughout the weekend Tommy found more and more speed, made possible by the additional downforce of the full tunnel floor. In fact Tommy lowered his pervious personal best time by a staggering 2 seconds per lap.
In qualifying this increase in pace saw Tommy third in the CSR class and in the race he stepped up again to finish second in class and sixth overall.
However, it was Marc Walker and his Comprent prepared Fox-Lola 01C Sports 2000 (S2) that provided one of the most dominant results of the weekend. |
